Remains of Woman Kidnapped by Friend Found in Texas

(Newser) – After three years of searching, a family found their missing daughter when her remains were discovered Wednesday in a field in Texas, NBC DFW reports. “We promised Christina we would find her and bring her home,” the Dallas Observer quotes Christina Morris’ sister as saying. “We were determined to keep that promise; 2,185 days after her disappearance Christina was found.” The 23-year-old Morris was last seen leaving a shopping center in Plano with her friend Enrique Arochi in August 2014, CBS DFW reports. Arochi was was sentenced to life in prison for kidnapping after Morris’ DNA was found in the trunk of his car. Police allege Arochi, drunk and high on Adderall, kidnapped Morris because he was upset a friend had declined his sexual advances. He continues to maintain his innocence. Multifamily Construction Starts Settled Back in Many of the Top U.S. Metropolitan Markets in 2017

NEW YORK, NY – Many of the leading U.S. metropolitan areas for commercial and multifamily construction starts showed reduced activity in 2017 compared to levels reported during 2016, according to Dodge Data & Analytics. Of the top ten markets ranked by the dollar amount of construction starts, seven registered declines, one was essentially unchanged, and just two showed greater activity in 2017. For the metropolitan areas ranked 11 through 20, the 2017 performance was more evenly balanced, with four reporting declines, one essentially unchanged, and five reporting gains. At the national level, the volume of commercial and multifamily construction starts was $194.7 billion, down 7% from 2016, although still 8% above the amount reported for 2015. Homeowners just became the minority in these US cities

Renters became the majority in nearly a quarter of the largest US cities in the decade between 2006 and 2016.

Over those 10 years, rentership growth outpaced homeownership in nearly all of the most populous US cities, according to a report released last week by the listing site RentCafe.

Some 22 of the 100 largest cities became renter-majority between 2006 and 2016, bringing the total of renter-dominated cities to 42. The increase was so pronounced that it was only slightly below the total national population growth recorded during that decade. Chedana Chitralehkha was last seen riding a red mountain bike. She may have been in the area of Brand Road, East Renner Road and East FM 544, police said.

She was wearing a gray sweatshirt and blue jeans.

Additional details were not immediately available.

Anyone who sees Chedana is asked to call 911.
